One of the most common problems in beach photography relates to wide open spaces when a long and often unbroken horizon has the appearance of sloping horizons. Work hard at keeping your horizon square to the frame of your shot. Also consider placing your horizon off center since centered horizons can leave a photo looking chopped in half. wwwcustomsportsproducts.com

Don’t be afraid to play with the shutter speed to create some interesting effects. When taking a night time shot, use a tripod and try shooting with the shutter speed set at 4 seconds. You will see that the movement of the object is captured along with some light trails. If you choose a faster shutter speed of say 1/250th of a second, the trails will not be as long or bright; instead you will freeze the action. This technique works well if you are using a tripod and if you are photographing a moving object.

Your phone’s default camera app isn’t the only camera app—and sometimes it’s not even the best camera app. Explore your phone’s app store for other camera apps that provide more extensive photo editing features, or better filters. Be sure to shop around and look at the app reviews before making the decision on which camera app is best for your needs. A new mobile camera app could be a simple and inexpensive answer to giving your photography the new and fresh feel you’ve been searching for! www.customsportsproducts.com

Tip: Shoot from different angles. Your mobile camera is small for a reason, so get creative! Take photos of your subject from several different angles—try shooting from above, below, inside, or outside. Watch your light source and shadows as you move around and use them to help add more dimension to your photos. Keep your mind open, experiment, and, who knows, you may find that your go-to perfect shot can be improved! http://www.masterphotousa.com/

Back in the 80's and 90's we captured monumental occasions on large handheld video cameras – baby’s first steps, school concerts, vows at a wedding. Like many relics from our past, those VHS tapes were stuffed into boxes and forgotten – but the memories they hold last much longer than the technology built to relive them. Simply leave your dusty VHS tapes with us, and we’ll make them easy to view again on DVD. With reliable, compact storage, you can re-experience – and share – those first steps, family vacations, academic achievements and lifetime milestones with your loved ones over and over again. http://www.masterphotousa.com/

Did your parents or grandparents capture memories on slides that you've inherited (or will someday)? Do you remember sitting in a dark room watching pictures projected on a screen while someone told the story of each photo? Chances are, now that you're older (& wiser), you're curious what those miniature photos look like today and wish you could hear your parents or grandparents tell those stories once again. Bring back those fond memories of your past by scanning the family's slides into digital JPG files so you can view images on any computer, tablet or phone, tag your siblings on Facebook!

DIY Tip: How to remove old photos from a sticky album. Step 1: Remove any clear protectors from the album page. Step 2: Aim a hair dryer a few inches away from the edge of the image or on the back side of the album page if possible. Blow dry on low setting for 30-45 seconds. (Do not point high heat directly at the photo). Step 3: Slowly and carefully peel off the photo from the page. Step 4: Still sticky? Use dental floss to loosen the image by pulling the floss back and forth under the photo. Once your photos are free - don't bury them in another album! We can help! Have them scanned to digital format so they are protected from environmental damage and are easy to share with others!
